Introduction

About the 1980 Grand Mariner 36

Boat-shed kept since 1988, this Grand Mariner has been able to avoid many of the usual challenges of a trawler that has spent its life outside in the elements. A well-known classic, the Grand Mariners are considered a high-quality build amongst Taiwanese Trawlers and this one is no exception. With an efficient single Lehman diesel and a bow thruster with controls at both helm stations, this Grand Mariner is ready for cruising.

It is the perfect boat for a cruising couple with room for visiting family and friends as the two-cabin, two-head layout provides plenty of separation and privacy.

Not much has changed on this boat since the 80’s. The owners have had her since 1988 and kept her in original condition. With original electronics like an SRM depth sounder that uses paper to record depth and a CB radio, this boat has an amazing retro vibe. Even the parquet floors have been fully carpeted and are in excellent condition.

  • Comfortable Interior: Step inside to find generous living spaces with a forward cabin, main salon, galley, and owners’ cabin with ample storage and a large head with tub.

  • Classic Charm: The vessel’s interior features beautiful woodwork and classic styling, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The carpet fully covers the original parquet flooring underneath.

  • Efficient Engine: The reliable Ford Lehman 6 Cylinder naturally aspirated diesel ensures smooth cruising and dependable performance. The bow thruster adds confidence around the marina.

  • Practical Layout: The layout is designed for convenient living on board, with a well-equipped galley and a cozy salon area offering great views.

  • Great for Cruising: This trawler is well-suited for leisurely cruising along the scenic coastlines of British Columbia, Washington, and Alaska.
