1981 Cooper Seabird

Introduction

About the 1981 Cooper Seabird

This pilothouse was designed and built in British Columbia and is a fantastic all-weather cruising sailboat for our coast. All systems are in working order and you can take you to Desolation Sound, Alaska, and back this summer if you are ready to go. If not, the moorage is assumable in Nanaimo so you have a great place to keep her.

The large pilothouse offers year-round protection from sun, rain, wind, and cold. Forward is an incredibly welcoming cabin made for simply enjoying your time afloat. Going down the companionway there is a full galley to starboard and a comfortable dinette to port with a built-in chessboard. The main salon has a built-in ‘captain’ lounge chair, bench seating with a double berth to starboard with a diesel stove that offers ambiance and warmth.  The salon is classically designed with a rich, wood interior and is a space made for reading novels and telling stories late into the night.  Aft of the pilothouse is a separate cabin with a queen berth and private head.

With a 2023 pre-purchase survey available that describes the engine room as being in ‘beyond-excellent’ condition, this boat is worth coming to see if you are in the market for a comfortable west coast cruiser.
