Introduction

About the 1988 CS 36 Merlin

Designed by renowned naval architect Tony Castro and built by Canadian Sailcraft, the CS 36 Merlin has long been considered one of the premier Canadian-built performance cruisers, offering an exceptional balance of speed, comfort, and seaworthiness. MINNEDOSA represents a great opportunity to acquire an extensively upgraded example that has clearly benefited from knowledgeable ownership. With upgraded electrical systems, quality electronics, powerful sail-handling equipment, a dependable Volvo diesel, and a survey describing the vessel as being in better than normal condition overall, she is a compelling choice for sailors seeking a turnkey cruiser ready for immediate Pacific Northwest adventures.

The CS 36 Merlin combines strong sailing performance, offshore-capable construction, comfortable accommodations, and practical cruising systems. Her vacuum-bagged hull construction, winged fin keel, spacious two-cabin layout, and upgraded onboard systems make her an ideal choice for cruising couples, coastal adventurers, or sailors seeking a capable passagemaker.
