Introduction

About the 2000 Bayliner 5788 Pilothouse

Since its introduction as the flagship of the Bayliner fleet, the 5788 has always been a sought-after cruising yacht, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Owners consistently praise the 5788 for its raised pilothouse, full-beam master stateroom, separate dinette, and spacious engine room. This three-cabin cruiser has enough space and amenities to keep everyone comfortable.

Having recently journeyed down from her home in Prince Rupert, she is in good cruising condition and with relatively low-hour MAN twin diesel engines, she is ready for her next owner.

  • 4000 Watt Magna Sine Inverter

  • Westerbeke 15KW Generator

  • Webasto hydronic heating

  • Full command bridge enclosure with Lexan windows

  • Wesmar bow thruster

  • Village Marine Watermaker

Her moorage in Nanaimo may be assumable with management approval.

Features

Accomodation

The 5788 layout is a standout. The full-beam master stateroom is located amidships (under the pilothouse), featuring a centerline queen berth, abundant teak joinery, and an en-suite head with a tub/shower. The VIP stateroom forward has an island queen berth, plenty of storage, shared head with private access. The third stateroom (port side) offers offset bunks – perfect for guests or children.

  • Cockpit: Not huge but definitely functional, with steps to the flybridge that lift for engine room access. There is a large swim platform accessed from either side via moulded stairs.

  • Salon: Large, open area with lounge seating and the galley forward to port. Everyone’s favourite, the separate dinette sits to starboard across from the galley. It’s not just a breakfast bar, but a real sit-down, hang out, have a meal, read a book space.

  • Pilothouse: Raised, with excellent visibility, helm controls, three colour displays, companion seating area with convertible table and side access doors.

  • Command Bridge: Generous seating, with helm chair, lounge seating, and a full canvas enclosure with Lexan windows. Aft of the covered bridge area is the tender with a crane.
