2003 Dufour Gib Sea 37

Introduction

About the 2003 Dufour Gib Sea 37

A well-designed and well-equipped family cruiser with the upgrades and amenities to make cruising the Pacific Northwest safe and comfortable.

This Gib’Sea 37 has the desirable three-cabin layout. A V-berth forward and two double cabins aft. Converting the table in the salon can also easily accommodate another couple.  There is a spacious galley and a single, oversized head with a new marine toilet(2024) and shower. The Espar hydronic heater provides reliable heat as well as hot water for showering at anchor.

The canvas dodger, bimini and connector offer great coverage and are in excellent condition. The convenient walk-through transom makes coming and going from the dock and water easy. The sails were replaced in 2013 and have lazy jacks, a stack pack and all lines are led to the cockpit for easy sail management. For additional peace of mind, a new Twin Disc marine transmission and dripless shaft seal were installed in 2023.

Fully serviced in 2024 there is little for the next owner to do but provision and head out on its next adventure.

Features

Accomodation

The three-cabin layout has a spacious forward cabin with a V-berth with storage underneath, reading lights, and a hatch for ventilation.  The aft cabins have double berths, portholes for natural light, and decent storage space, with shelves and lockers for clothes and personal items. All cabins have individual heater outlets to ensure everyone is comfortable.

The salon features a U-shaped settee on the starboard side and a straight settee to port allowing for plenty of seating for family and friends.

The dinette is foldable to maximize space and allows for all-around seating when extended and can convert into an additional berth if needed.

There’s ample storage with lockers and cabinets along the saloon’s sides for easy stowage of gear and provisions.

The head is oversized with a new marine toilet(2024) and shower with good storage.

The Espar hydronic heater provides dry heat to the entire boat as well as hot water when needed. This is especially pleasant when at anchor and you can take a hot shower or rinse off with warm water with the cockpit shower.

Galley

The L-shaped galley is located to port with a two-burner propane stove with an oven. It’s gimbaled for safe cooking at sea. There is a double stainless steel sink with pressurized hot and cold water, as well as a top-loading fridge, with lots of space for perishable items. There is plenty of storage for cooking equipment and provisions.

Mechanical

The auxiliary engine is a reliable, naturally aspirated, Kubota D1005-e. Although not the most common name in marine diesel in the Pacific Northwest, Kubota engines are certainly one of the most common engine blocks used in marine auxiliary diesel engines. They are so well-regarded that Kubota blocks are used by companies such as Universal, Westerbeke and Beta. More so in other industries.
