Introduction

About the 2005 Bayliner 275 Cierra

You get a lot of bang for your buck in a Bayliner. They’re known for sleek styling and very clever use of space. The 275 is a testament to that. Compared to other 27-foot boats, you’ll find a remarkably large and useable interior, coupled with a comfortable cockpit that can accommodate several seating plans for up to 6 people.

This vessel can come with assumable moorage in Nanaimo with management approval.

A lot of fun can be had in a boat like this. The Mercruiser will get you up on step in no time, and zip you out to where the fish are, or where the other island is. The davit affords a quick drop of the dinghy, and ‘poof’ you’re gunkholing and beach combing.

Below decks, the galley is simple and highly functional with a surprising amount of storage and counter space. Here, you can use the galley as well as the starboard-side dinette for preparing the catch-of-the-day. Feed four, sleep four. One couple can sleep privately in the aft cabin, with a huge berth, tucked in below the cockpit, and another couple can stretch out on the V-berth and watch the stars overhead through an open hatch with the fresh, night air drifting in.

The fully enclosable cockpit and 12VDC/gas heater mean your boating season can go 12 months long. It was just hauled out in the spring of ’24 when it got new bottom paint and zincs, as well as having the engine and leg serviced.

Have you ever seen Chatterbox Falls on your own boat, or met the half-mad bus driver who takes you from the marina to the pub on Galiano Island? This boat is your ticket to ride!

Layout & Description

The overall look of this vessel is sleek and clean. Starting at the bow of the boat, you’ll see a beautiful stainless-steel anchor recessed into the foredeck, with a spotlight and open-front pulpit. Four fender-holders are convenient and assist with storage. The foredeck is quite large with lots of space to lay out. The windscreens wrap around the sides, lending to the overall sleek look. The middle window opens to the cockpit. A long, black window tapers along the length of the foredeck on both sides and there are two eye-shaped windows in the hull below the rub rail.

It’s a cinch to board this boat due to the large swim grid. There is a davit system and RHIB with 2.5HP engine mounted astern.

Entering the cockpit, to port is a seating area where, when the forward seat back is flipped, four people can sit facing each other. When that seat back is flipped aft, it becomes a forward-facing seat, with another bench along the port side. The engine compartment is under the cockpit sole. Starboard and forward is the helm. The captain’s seat is large and comfy, with all instruments placed intuitively. Between the helm and forward port bench is the companionway.

Stepping down into the cabin, the first thing you’ll see is the galley to port, a large V-berth forward, and a dinette to starboard. To your immediate port, there is entry to the aft sleeping area, tucked under the cockpit. The large double bunk lies athwartship, with the head of the bunk against the port hull.

To starboard is the head. It is molded fiberglass with an opening porthole for light and ventilation. When standing in the doorway, you’ll see the toilet ahead and the basin to your right. The faucet can be pulled out for showering.

Forward of the head is a 4-person dinette. The aft bench is your standard bench, with a bar fridge beneath it, but the forward seat is a part of the V-berth. When being used as a dinette, there is a backrest in place that can be removed. When being used as a bed, take it out.

The galley has a remarkable amount of storage. The lower counter contains 4 large cupboards beneath the stovetop and sink. There is ample room for food prep next to the sink, as well as on the dinette table to starboard. Behind and above the lower counter is another storage area, with the microwave recessed into it on the forward end, an electrical panel on the aft end, and a cupboard in between. A shelf runs along the top of this section.

In true Bayliner style, it’s an amazing use of space.
