Introduction

About the 2008 Bayliner 340

Experience Luxury and Adventure on Water with the 2008 Bayliner 340

This beautiful cruiser offers a seamless blend of comfort and performance, making it the perfect choice for both seasoned boaters and first-time adventurers. Whether you’re planning a day of water sports, a slow cruise along the coastline, or a multi-night adventure, this cruiser delivers on all fronts.

The 340 has a huge cockpit with wrap-around seating that can accommodate a small crowd. The entire cockpit and helm station have a new, full canvas cover to keep you comfortable in all conditions.

Down below is a testament to interior design ingenuity as it can accommodate a shocking amount of people in comfortable bench seating around the hull.  For overnights, there is a large owner’s cabin in the rear, as well as the forward table, which converts into a large berth. The head is large with a shower and the galley has what you need for cooking.

With an extended swim platform and telescoping ladder, the Bayliner 340 provides easy access to the water, making coming and going from the water a seamless experience. Turn on the newly installed underwater lights at the stern and nighttime at the dock becomes magical.

The professionally maintained 5.0 MPI  Mercuisers engines cruise low, slow and efficient and can also move the boat along with a combined total of 520 horsepower so there is no reason to worry if Dodd’s narrows is flooding or ebbing. You can power on through.

With assumable moorage in Nanaimo, this is a great boat for cruising our BC waters.

Online review from YachtandBoat

Bayliner is taking fun on the water to new lengths – 35 feet to be exact! Bayliner’s 340 Cruiser capitalizes on 50 years of marine industry leadership and innovation, resulting in a family-friendly boat with unbeatable value. With comfortable gathering spots and wide-open spaces, the 340 is a fantastic choice for boaters who want to bring a crowd without being crowded.

Bayliner is known for putting families and fun first. The 340 continues this tradition with features and options that make ease of operation and fun a priority. For example, a unique swiveling double helm seat can be rotated out of the way, transforming the cockpit into an open area that can easily become a dance floor if the mood strikes. In this case, wide-open space is the beginning of wide-open fun. There simply is nothing else like it in this segment!

Thanks to an open design and expansive windows, the cabin of the 340 feels as airy and spacious as the cockpit! The 340 cabin gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “family room.” The cabin features extensive seating and legroom with continuous seating along the port side. While the 340 offers a table for meals and games, guests are not forced into a traditional cramped, opposed seating configuration. There is plenty of room for eight people to sit and socialize or watch TV without having to climb over beds or each other in search of a place to relax.

Of course, when it does come time to sleep, the 340 offers a private berth amidships and a convertible V-berth in the bow with privacy curtain. A flat screen TV provides perfectly relaxing entertainment at the end of the day, before nodding off with the aid of a gentle rocking motion that only an evening on the water can provide.

When the crew awakes the next morning, a fully-featured galley is ready for breakfast preparations with a dual-burner electric stove and a microwave. Several electrical outlets are provided and are is perfect for plugging in a coffee machine to fill the cabin with aromas sure to wake anyone still sleeping. If coffee is not their thing, your crew can always wake up with a warm shower in the head. The use of modular construction for the bathroom means that the interior is seamless, with no cracks or crevices for water to get into for easy wipe-down.

When it’s time to pull anchor, a standard windlass makes it easy to get underway. Easy-to-reach battery switches and fender storage make departing or returning to the dock a no-hassle affair. The 340 comes standard with 500 horsepower, courtesy of twin 5.7 liter MerCruiser engines. Additional engine options range up to a whopping 750 horsepower from twin 496 big-block engines. An optional electric engine hatch lift makes it a breeze to access the engines whether you want to perform routine maintenance or just admire all that horsepower! Regardless of which engine you choose, once you raise the anchor, you’ll be well on your way to fun.

All twin engine Bayliner products are available with Mercury’s new Axius joystick docking control system. The combination of Bayliner’s Smooth Ride System Hull Design and Axius – a truly revolutionary technology, is the perfect match to provide a new level of handling for those customers who want simple and intuitive control that will allow them to easily maneuver a large boat like the 340 in tight docking and handling situations – even short handed.

While the 340 is built with features that make it easy to entertain guests, like an optional refrigerator on the sun deck and a 36-quart removable cooler in an out-of-the-way niche, you may find that its powerful engines and emphasis on fun mean that you’ll be the one being entertained! A generous swim step on the back provides plenty of room to bring along a tube or two, and built-in speakers in the radar arch can provide the perfect background score to the howls of delight from those being towed on tubes.

When it’s time for a more relaxed kind of fun, the 340 has plenty of lounging space for an afternoon read or a catnap. For those interested in maximizing their sun exposure, two optional bow sunpads offer a perfect place to soak in rays. An adjustable table in the rear of the cockpit lowers and combines with the rear seating and a comfortable pad to become a spacious lounge. With the rear cockpit in the lounge configuration, the 340 provides space for five adults to fully recline on padded lounges, with additional seating space in the cockpit thanks to the swiveling helm seat.

With unparalleled space and possibilities, the Bayliner 340 is taking fun on the water to new lengths. Available options like a gas or diesel generator and a 16,000 BTU air conditioning and reverse-cycle heating system make the 340 truly livable, letting you extend your time aboard as long as you wish. The new flagship of the Bayliner line-up, the 340 packs 50 years of boating heritage, leadership and enjoyment into 35 feet of big time fun!
