The Cutwater 28 delivers a great balance of performance, comfort, style, and value that few boats can match. Its keel-stepped hull is designed for comfort, performance, handling, and fuel economy. Re-powered in 2021 with a new Volvo Penta D270.

This Cutwater has been upgraded to be a salmon-catching machine. If you want to catch salmon and spend time comfortably trolling with some of the most modern equipment available, this boat is definitely for you. Or, if you want more creature comforts in a compact cruising boat, it’s hard to beat a Cutwater for versatility and great use of space.

What makes this a salmon-catching machine?

Let’s start with the captain’s chair. This is not the internal helm station or the rear helm station in the cockpit. This is the folding cockpit lounge chair that rotates onto the swim grid. From this comfortable rear-facing seat you have a brand new Hummingbird chart plotter at arms reach utilizing the OneBoat Wireless Network. At your fingertips you have full visibility of the fish finder information, chart plotter, and the ability to control two Cannon Optimum TS (Tournament Series) downriggers through the Hummingbird unit or the One-Boat Network App from your phone or tablet.  You can set the depth and change the depth of the outriggers getting up from your seat.  

To further optimize the salmon catching capabilities this Cutwater has an electric Torqueedo 20 Hp. Pod drive that enables silent trolling for hours. You can have full control of the boat using your remote autopilot, while in your rear-facing captain’s chair with eyes on the rods, downrigger depth, and fish on the screen.  

To ensure you are not limited in your travels a water maker has been added. This allows for unlimited fresh water for your fish cleaning station, freshwater washdown, showers, and extra water for your fishing buddies on less equipped boats. And because fishermen like to travel light, there is a washing machine to launder one of your two sets of clothes as needed.

 This boat comes supplied with fishing equipment including rods and reels, traps, trap puller, etc.

If fishing isn’t your primary thing, that’s OK, the Cutwater 28 is a very comfortable and capable cruising boat for a couple. The cockpit is large with multiple seating options with a full cover over the cockpit and side panels for when it gets cool. It also has custom SeaDeck foam in the cockpit for increased comfort. Moving inside you have great visibility from everywhere with the wrap-around windows. There is a seating area on the starboard side and a sink and galley to port with the washing machine by the cockpit. The helm station has everything you need close at hand with the Volvo electronic controls, bow and stern thrusters, VHF radio, autopilot, and Torqueedo thrust controlForward is the cabin with a hanging locker and coffee bar to port and the large v-berth. To starboard is a good sized head with shower.

Under the dinette is usually a sleeping compartment for visitors but most folks use it as a storage compartment and is where the 4 larger Torqueedo lithium batteries live.
