2008 Meridian 580 Pilothouse

The interior layout pairs high-gloss cherry wood cabinetry with premium Ultraleather® upholstery and modern LED lighting, striking a perfect balance between classic warmth and bright, modern yacht design.

• Cockpit: Outfitted with premium “Flexiteek” synthetic decking, a self-bailing design, and a lifting hatch that leads straight down into a stand-up engine room. This is where you keep a few chairs to simply sit and watch the world go by at anchor.

• Salon: Accessible via a stainless-framed glass sliding door, featuring a spacious layout, an integrated entertainment center with a 40” Samsung LCD TV, and a built-in U-Line ice maker. The Ulraleather-covered couches are comfortable, and there is plenty of seating and space for a well-attended cocktail party.  Further forward, there is a dinette across from the galley where you will enjoy many meals with an amazing view.

• Pilothouse: A raised, fully appointed command center with excellent visibility, an adjustable helm seat, an L-shaped dinette for guests, and a direct side-deck access door. The helm layout is modern with upgraded Garmin displays and everything in easy reach of the captain.

• Owner’s Stateroom: A magnificent, full-beam midship master stateroom with an island queen berth, hanging locker and drawer storage. There is a mirrored vanity and an ensuite head with a full shower and bath.

• VIP Stateroom: The forward stateroom has an island double berth with dual closets, drawers and direct access to the guest head.

• Guest Stateroom: Across from the guest head, an additional stateroom with two bunks,  drawer and hanging locker storage with custom “keep the grandkids from falling out” lee-boards.  

• Command Bridge: A massive, elevated social hub with a huge, L-shaped lounge area featuring tough vinyl upholstery, a second helm station, and a fully enclosed canvas/Isinglass structure to keep you warm and dry. To starboard is a wet bar, with a sink and BBQ. The aft deck is where the AB tender is stored and the crane for launching.

• Cooking System: Features a high-end Euro Kera 4-element glass electric cooktop alongside a built-in GE Oven and a GE Spacemaker XL 1800 microwave. These deliver residential-grade cooking speed and capacity, making gourmet meal prep seamless when far from port.

• Food Storage: Full-sized stainless steel Kitchenaid refrigerator and freezer combination in the galley and a Danby chest freezer on the command bridge.

• Heating & Climate Control: Equipped with a Marine Air reverse-cycle A/C and water-sourced heat pump system featuring independent zone controls in all living areas. This system keeps the cabins crisp and cool in the summer and warm when off-season cruising in the Pacific Northwest.

• Hot Water System: A large-capacity marine water heater safely tucked below the master stateroom sole guarantees steaming showers without taxing your primary cabin spaces.

• Water Maker: A newly installed FCI Aquamiser+ water maker ensures you have plenty of fresh water, no matter where you are on the coast. Rated for 500 gallons per day ensures you will have your water replaced as quickly as needed.

• Ice Maker: The U-Line high-capacity ice maker is a favourite for the owners.

• Toilets: Dual premium Vacuflush marine toilets servicing the master and guest heads deliver odour-free, reliable, and vacuum-powered waste management similar to land-based systems.

• Generator: A heavy-duty 17 kW Onan Diesel Generator (Model: 17MDKBP-5730B) running smoothly at 1800 RPM supplies robust, reliable AC power to run all reverse-cycle climate units and galley appliances simultaneously while anchored at a remote cove.

• Charging & Inverter Systems: Anchored by a new Victron Energy Multiplus 3000-watt inverter/charger paired with a secondary Mastervolt Chargemaster 20/30-3 35-amp charger and battery equalizer that delivers flawless, automated power inversion and fast battery replenishment, protecting delicate onboard electronics from voltage spikes.

• Victron Lithium System: A new Victron lithium house bank was designed and installed by Pacific Yacht Systems specifically for this vessel.

• Batteries: A massive house bank consisting of 3 Victron Energy 24vSmart LifePO4 200Ah batteries, widely regarded as some of the most durable and safe lithium batteries available. 4 4 Odyssey G31 AGM batteries for engine and generator starting. The lithium house batteries provide reserve capacity for silent, generator-free nights at anchor, while the separate starting batteries ensure instantaneous engine starts. All installed by Pacific Yacht Systems.

• Victron Energy System includes SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 Solar Controller, GX Touch 50, Lynx Smart BMS 500, Cerbo GX, 2 Battery Protect 12/24v-100A

• Electrical Protection Systems: A comprehensive, marine-grade circuit breaker network featuring 8 12VDC breakers, 44 24VDC breakers, and 33 120/240VAC breakers, all tied into a fully bonded stranded copper grounding system. This prevents accidental short circuits, mitigates stray current corrosion, and ensures strict adherence to yacht safety standards.

• Chartplotter & GPS: Upgraded, dual 16-inch multi-touch widescreen Garmin GPSmap 7616xsv displays installed in the pilothouse, paired with a matching Garmin display at the command bridge helm. These provide lightning-fast processing, bright daylight readability, and seamless split-screen views of charts, radar, and sonar.

• Radar & Sounder: A high-definition Garmin Radar system fully integrated into the Garmin network enhances safety by identifying distant weather fronts, logs, and vessels in dense fog, while the Echo Sounder maps bottom topography in real-time.

• Autopilot: A fully integrated Garmin Autopilot is accessible from both helm stations, locks onto your destination coordinates to handle precision steering automatically, significantly reducing captain fatigue on long transits.

• Radios & Cameras: Dual Garmin GHS-10 VHF radios working alongside a multi-point Garmin camera system focused on the engine room and cockpit ensure crystal-clear communication with port authorities and other vessels while allowing the captain to visually monitor machinery spaces and docking distances directly from the helm screens.

• Anchor: A premium 50# stainless steel Lewmar / DELTA plow anchor mounted beautifully on the bow delivers exceptional, aggressive holding power across diverse bottom types.

• Chain: High-tensile 3/8” galvanized steel chain adds heavy, ground-seeking weight to lower the anchor’s pull angle, preventing the yacht from dragging during strong tidal shifts.

• Windlass: A high-performance Quick electric windlass with dedicated controls effortlessly deploys and retrieves heavy ground tackle at the press of a button, complete with an integrated FloJet anchor sea-water washdown pump to blast away mud before it reaches your deck.

• Main Engines: Twin high-output Cummins QSM11 715HO marine diesel engines, pumping out an impressive 715 HP / 526 kW each. The configuration consists of an inline six-cylinder layout that is both turbocharged and aftercooled. These deliver massive, reliable torque to easily lift this heavy-displacement yacht onto a plane when needed, or cruise with extreme fuel efficiency at lower speeds

• Electronic controls are intuitive and provide great control of the boat when maneuvering around the docks.

• Gearboxes & Propulsion: Robust ZF Model ZF311A gearboxes featuring a 2.033 gear ratio, turning heavy-duty 3” stainless steel propeller shafts through PYI Packless Shaft Seals (PSS).

• Propellers: Twin precision-balanced 4-blade bronze propellers (Diameter: 32” / Pitch: 34”) maximize thrust efficiency and minimize vibration, resulting in an exceptionally quiet, smooth ride through the cabin spaces.

• Thrusters & Auxiliaries: Twin high-power Side Power Model SP 155 TCI 10.7 HP thrusters mounted at both the bow and the stern, and  Bennet Marine 42” x 12” stainless steel trim tabs. Provides effortless, joystick-like control when maneuvering into tight slips against crosswinds, while the oversized trim tabs level the running attitude perfectly for optimal fuel economy.

• Remote control: Control the boat with ease from a remote control unit around your neck, making docking a low-stress experience.

The 95’ boathouse was made by Lynwood Marine of North Vancouver. Wood-framed and aluminum-clad with encapsulated foam and a mazanine.
